Our friendly AI assistant “Science Ronny” will try to provide answers and guide you to more information on relevant pages. The AI assistant is mobile friendly and will work fine on most smartphones. Science Ronnys is an AI assistant using the GPT deep learning algorithms. The version of GPT we use is stated at the bottom of the chat box.
A few practicalities
- Science Ronny” appears as a small chat icon in the lower left corner. A chat window opens when you click on the icon. You can type any question related to research methodology. If you have multiple questions, please ask them one at a time.
- You will find two symbols at the top of the chat window. There is an icon with four arrows that maximizes the chat window. Maximizing the size of the chat window is often a good idea. Finally, there is also an icon to download the entire chat session as a text (.txt) file. Below the chat window, there is a down arrow that closes the window.
- All information provided on this website, including answers from “Science Ronny”, is provided free of charge on an “as is” basis. We take no legal or financial responsibility for the consequences of any errors in the provided information.
- “Science Ronny” has processed vast amounts of information up until a few weeks or months ago but may not be up to date with events occurring after that.
- At the bottom of the chat window, there is an image icon. Click on it to upload images (for example, a screenshot of results from statistical software) and ask “Science Ronny” to interpret the result.
- At the bottom of the chat window, there is an Internet symbol. If you click this first, “Science Ronny” gains access to the Internet. You can then provide “Science Ronny” with a link and ask for a summary of that webpage. If you navigate to another page on this website, the setting resets so “Science Ronny” no longer has Internet access, and you will need to activate it again.
- You can click on the microphone to speak to “Science Ronny”. When you are done, click the microphone again to let “Science Ronny” know that you have finished your question (this requires you to have a microphone). “Science Ronny” cannot reply with a voice but will respond with written text.
- Chat sessions are stored on servers belonging to OpenAI. The purpose is for us to review previous sessions to identify where the AI assistant makes mistakes, and subsequently try to improve its knowledge base and behavior. Please note that the chat session does not contain personal information such as your name, unless you enter your name in the chat yourself. We will not use historical chat data for anything other than providing a better service. OpenAI states that they do not use these conversations to train their AI.
